Simply The Best

"I woke up in the middle of the night and I could barely move. I thought something was horribly wrong.”

This is my husband’s and my first baby and we decided to find a doctor who practices at The Woman’s Hospital of Texas because we heard it was the very best place to have a baby. I have learned first-hand that we made the right decision. When I was just 27 weeks pregnant, I woke up in the middle of the night with horrible pain in my abdomen. No matter what I did, I couldn’t get comfortable. I called Dr. Pinell who told me to come into the hospital so he could take a look at what was happening. I was so relieved because I knew that Dr. Pinell is one of the best obstetricians and that The Woman’s Hospital has the most experienced nurses, doctors and staff to help me and my baby.

The hospital was expecting me and I was wheeled right up to labor and delivery where the most wonderful nurse, Megan, helped me into bed and made me comfortable. She spent hours with us as Dr. Pinell monitored our baby and me to check for any problems. All of my tests came back showing that the baby was perfectly fine and that I was not having contractions. I was so relieved and Dr. Pinell was so happy for us. He told me that I had more than likely pulled a ligament and that can be very painful.

As a first time mom, everything is new in pregnancy. My doctor and his nurses encourage me to call with any questions or concerns. Lots of people “say” that, but I can honestly say that the nurses and Dr. Pinell have taken the time to be supportive and answer each of my questions no matter how small. I know there are new hospitals springing up all over the place and some are just down the street from us, but Woman’s has been providing care for women and babies for more than 35 years. They took wonderful care of my mom when she had surgery there and I wouldn’t trust any other place to take care of me and my baby.
